The second visit to the Krone in Spiez. Last time, the waiter gave us the suggestion to order the house-made Café de Paris sauce, which turned out to be fantastic advice. So obviously we had to order it again, and will probably do so again in future visits, definitely worth it!
The Krone has about ten different Cordon Bleu variants on their menu, I decided to be a bit adventurous and ordered the “Cordon Bleu Italia” with Gorgonzola and Pears. The meat was excellent and the breadcrumb coating just the right amount of soft but not yet soggy. Admittedly: It was almost a bit too much Gorgonzola for my liking, but then again, it was decidedly a bit of an adventurous order as I’m usually not much of a Gorgonzola enthusiast, so definitely no fault on the cook’s side.
